Some people think that they need an acid wash
only if their pool is green and full of algae.
NOT SO!
Most pools need to be acid washed every few years.
While a green algae-filled pool is one reason to acid wash, mineral content
is another.
Our water is hard in Nevada and when the hardness level exceeds 700-800
PPM, the calcium deposits in the plaster cause problems all around. The
industry standard is to drain the pool and acid wash it in a light acid
solution with a special additive that can whiten plaster and help protect the
surface from etching.
